Rumors swirl about Jordan Henderson potentially departing Saudi Arabia for Chelsea in a football transfer move.

Jordan Henderson seems to have had his fill of ‘growing the game’ in Saudi Arabia and appears interested in returning to England. After spending six months earning £350,000 a week with Al-Ettifaq, a mid-table team in the Saudi Pro League, reports suggest he’s testing the waters for a potential return to the Premier League, with Chelsea being mentioned as a possible destination.

The question arises: can Chelsea afford Henderson’s salary given the Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, especially considering their existing lineup of holding central midfielders like Moisés Caicedo, Enzo Fernández, Conor Gallagher, and Roméo Lavia? Henderson, at 33, might not seem an obvious choice given these circumstances, but in today’s football landscape, surprises are always possible.

Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, hinted that Henderson’s return to Liverpool seems unlikely when questioned after their FA Cup third-round victory against Arsenal. He mentioned having spoken to Henderson but not about a return to the club.
