Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez encounters yet another setback due to injury
Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez is encountering another setback in his playing time following a recent injury while making his comeback during the weekend.
The Spanish international endured a mere 11 minutes on the field as he returned from a hamstring issue, entering as a second-half substitute in Sunday’s Copa del Rey triumph against Barbastro.
However, Martinez, aged 32, has now sustained a thigh injury and, having just completed a month-long recovery, is confronted with another period of absence.
A club update stated: “Medical assessments conducted on the player indicate that Inigo Martinez has injured the biceps femoris muscle in his left thigh. Consequently, he is unavailable for selection, and the duration of his recovery will determine his return.”
