Western United’s Assistant Coach Vince Ierardo Set to Depart for Coaching Opportunity Abroad

Western United confirms that assistant coach Vince Ierardo will be leaving the Club to pursue a coaching opportunity abroad.

Ierardo is set to join Shanghai Port’s coaching staff, aligning with fellow Australians Kevin Muscat and Ross Aloisi, recently appointed as head coach and assistant coach, respectively, for the reigning Chinese Super League champions.

While Western United expresses regret at his departure, the Club extends its complete support and best wishes to Ierardo as he progresses in his coaching journey. Additionally, the Club takes pride in having significantly contributed to his growth and development.

An inaugural member of Western United’s Isuzu UTE A-League Men football department, Ierardo holds the distinction of being the Club’s longest-serving coaching staff member, having made a notable impact across various aspects of the Club’s football operations.

Although primarily serving as Lead Performance Analyst, Ierardo took on a dual role as an assistant coach at the start of this season. He also fulfilled the role of assistant coach for United’s inaugural Under 18’s team in 2023 and supported the Club’s women’s pathway at Calder United.

Ierardo expressed his appreciation for the Club and fondly reminisced about his time with Western United.
