Radu Dragusin Chooses Tottenham over Bayern Munich
Radu Dragusin has chosen to sign with Tottenham over Bayern Munich. Initially, Spurs had sealed a deal with Genoa worth £25.9m (€30m), which included £5.6m (€6m) in potential add-ons, before Bayern attempted to intervene with a late bid.
Despite Bayern’s improved offer of £26.7m (€31m), Dragusin had to make the decision regarding his preferred club, and he ultimately picked Tottenham. The Romanian defender is set to travel to London, where a medical examination has been scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
The failed move by Bayern for Dragusin occurred following reports from Sky in Germany over the weekend, suggesting that the German club had agreed on terms with Tottenham defender Eric Dier, who became their primary target.
Notably, Dragusin has impressed while playing for Genoa this season. Having started in every Serie A game, the 21-year-old excels in aerial duels, ranking third in the league for winning such challenges. Additionally, he stands out for his defensive clearances, where only Cagliari’s Alberto Dossena has completed more. Furthermore, Dragusin has displayed a threat in attack, ranking ninth for headed shots.
Deployed in a back three at Genoa, Dragusin showcases versatility across the defensive line. With Genoa positioned 12th in Serie A, his heatmap indicates active involvement within his own penalty box.
