Arsenal Recalls Marquinhos from FC Nantes after a brief Loan move to the French Side
Marquinhos has been brought back from his loan stint at FC Nantes in Ligue 1, where he has been playing since the beginning of the season.
The 20-year-old Brazilian youth international is set to join the under-23 national team for the 2024 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament in Venezuela.
Our forward is determined to contribute to Brazil securing one of the two available spots for South American teams in the 2024 Olympics Men’s Football Tournament, scheduled to take place in France this summer.
Marquinhos made a notable debut for the Gunners by scoring a brilliant goal in our 2-1 Europa League victory against FC Zurich in September 2022, following his signing from Sao Paulo the previous summer. He also made his Premier League debut in the subsequent match, a 3-0 win at Brentford, before embarking on a loan spell with Championship side Norwich City in January.
Prior to his time in England, Marquinhos gained a year of experience with his hometown club, making his senior debut shortly after turning 18 and contributing to his team’s victory in the Sao Paulo State Championship in 2021.
We extend a warm welcome to Marquinhos as he returns to the club and wish him the best in the upcoming international tournament and his ongoing development.
