Jordan Henderson Returns to Europe: Completes Move to Ajax After Saudi Arabia Disappointment

Jordan Henderson has concluded a move to Ajax, marking the end of a disappointing six-month stint in Saudi Arabia. The 33-year-old English midfielder has signed an initial 18-month contract with the Eredivisie team, making a swift return to European football. Henderson’s departure from Liverpool last summer, after 492 appearances and 12 years with the Reds, where he served as captain and earned Champions League and Premier League titles, preceded his controversial move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.

Since joining Al-Ettifaq, Henderson and his family have been dissatisfied, particularly with the decision to switch to the Saudi club. Under Henderson’s captaincy, Al-Ettifaq has not secured a victory since October. Despite having more than three years remaining on his contract, Henderson has opted to terminate it. Henderson is set to become Ajax’s highest earner after finalizing a deal with the Eredivisie giants.
