C.J. Stroud gives back to Ohio State his Alma Mater.

Houston Texans’ quarterback C.J. Stroud, amidst a breakout season, demonstrates a commendable commitment off the field by giving back to his alma mater, Ohio State. Stroud, formerly a standout quarterback for the Buckeyes, has joined ‘The Foundation,’ an NIL collective associated with Ohio State athletics, as a Platinum Donor. This elite status, requiring a pledge between $50,000 and $100,000, makes Stroud the first former student-athlete to become a major donor, according to reports.

The benefits of being a Platinum Donor include pre-game field passes for home games and a private tour of Ohio State’s athletic facilities. Stroud’s generous contribution is particularly significant as Ohio State makes strategic moves in the transfer portal, securing commitments from top-ranked players in their respective positions.

Reflecting on Stroud’s impact for Ohio State, he took over as the starting quarterback in the 2021-22 season, succeeding former first-round pick Justin Fields. His impressive performance led the Buckeyes to the College Football Playoff in 2022, and he was subsequently selected by the Houston Texans as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Despite the Texans being out of the playoffs, Stroud remains a strong contender for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, having led them to an AFC South division title and their first playoff appearance since 2019. His season statistics include 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns, and only five interceptions.
