Ohio State’s Offensive Lineman makes Career Switch; Takes up a Position with JPMorgan Chase
Trey Leroux participated in Ohio State’s Senior Day festivities as one of the 21 football players concluding the 2023 home schedule. Although he had the opportunity to return for another year with one year of eligibility remaining, Leroux, an offensive lineman and finance major, has decided to forego that option. Instead, he will commence his professional journey with a position at JPMorgan Chase starting this week, as reported by Eleven Warriors’ Dan Hope.
Despite graduating, Leroux, who joined Ohio State as part of Ryan Day’s 2020 recruiting class, opted not to use his remaining eligibility. Recognized as a developmental player, he enrolled early in 2020 but struggled to secure a significant role during his four years with the team. His limited playing time occurred in a 2021 game against Indiana, where he played eight snaps towards the end of a 54-7 victory.
Leroux’s departure is noteworthy as he had the option to play for up to two more years, having redshirted as a freshman and benefited from the COVID-19 eligibility extension granted to all players in 2020. With his exit, Ohio State enters spring practice with 85 scholarship players.
