Canberra Raiders forward Peter Hola Turn Down Offers from Two Clubs

Canberra Raiders forward Peter Hola has turned down offers from two clubs attempting to entice him away from the team based in the nation’s capital.

Despite facing challenges in making an impact with the Raiders, having participated in only two NRL games since his transfer from the North Queensland Cowboys, the 24-year-old prop has been a regular player in the club’s NSW Cup team, featuring in 22 games last season.

According to reports from League Express, Hola surprised many by rejecting offers from the Leigh Leopards and Salford Red Devils in the Super League, both of which had expressed interest in signing him for a move overseas.

While he hasn’t received official offers, clubs, including Leigh and Salford, actively pursued Hola. His agent, Chris Orr, clarified, “He hasn’t been offered, but clubs have come chasing him. Leigh and Salford were chasing him, but he decided that he still has many years in the NRL and wants to pursue his NRL journey. He is sticking where he is at at Canberra.”

Orr disclosed that Hola intends to remain in the NRL for the time being. However, this decision may be subject to change if he encounters challenges in securing consistent playing time with the Raiders. As the new season approaches, Hola’s goal of increased NRL participation may face obstacles, especially with the arrivals of Morgan Smithies and Zac Hosking at the club.

While Hola previously exercised his contract option with the Raiders before the current season, he remains off-contract at the end of the season. This situation could lead him to explore other opportunities to find better playing prospects.
