Patriots Hires Alex Van Pelt as Offensive Coordinator
Jerod Mayo has reportedly chosen the offensive coordinator for his inaugural staff as the Patriots’ head coach.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, the Patriots are set to bring on Alex Van Pelt for the position.
Van Pelt, who was recently let go by the Browns after four seasons with them, also held the role of quarterbacks coach in Cleveland. With extensive experience as a quarterbacks coach for the Bengals, Packers, Buccaneers, and Bills, coupled with a decade-long NFL career as a quarterback, Van Pelt’s background is expected to be crucial in addressing the Patriots’ need for a significant improvement in quarterback performance in 2024.
While the quarterback’s identity remains uncertain, the Patriots have now solidified their offensive leadership under Van Pelt’s guidance.
