Borja Sainz to get Down and Dirty to help lead Norwich City’s Championship charge.

The 22-year-old’s remarkable goal secured victory over Coventry City last weekend, marking his sixth goal contribution in 21 league appearances despite an injury-plagued start to his debut season.
David Wagner is impressed by Sainz’s adaptation to the physical demands of the English second tier since his free transfer from Turkey. “He’s proven he can score goals like that one, but what impressed me more was his defensive contribution,” said the City boss. “He worked tirelessly, even celebrating winning a throw-in. This willingness to do the dirty work is rare in attacking players, but he’s learning and improving.”
“He’s a crucial player for us, and we’ll continue pushing him to reach his peak consistently,” Wagner added. “We’re glad he’s fit and healthy now to help us, starting with the next game against QPR.”
While Sainz has become a regular starter, Wagner also praises the impact of substitutes in Norwich City’s recent successes. “Our bench players have consistently made an impact in recent weeks, which is crucial for a competitive squad aiming to win matches,” he noted. “Despite some players not being at their peak fitness, we’ve coped well, especially without our top scorer Jonny Rowe. Ashley Barnes was outstanding against Coventry, as were the other substitutes.”
