Ravens Trade Speculation: Cowboys WR Considered to Replace Odell Beckham Jr.

In search of a seasoned presence alongside Zay Flowers, the Baltimore Ravens are exploring the possibility of acquiring Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks, according to Bleacher Report.

Last offseason, the Ravens signed Odell Beckham Jr. as a free agent to bolster their receiving corps, alongside quarterback Lamar Jackson’s long-term deal. However, Beckham’s on-field performance fell short, tallying just 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games. With a hefty salary and underwhelming production, it’s unlikely he’ll return in 2024.

In light of this, the Ravens are eyeing Cooks as a potential replacement for Beckham. The proposed trade involves sending a 2024 fifth-round pick and a 2024 seventh-round pick (acquired from the Jets) to the Cowboys in exchange for Cooks and a 2024 seventh-round pick.

With Lamar Jackson continuing to excel as the league MVP in 2023, aided by offensive additions like Nelson Agholor and rookie Zay Flowers, the Ravens aim to maintain their momentum. Cooks, with a comparable skill set to Beckham and a reasonable salary, emerges as an attractive option to bolster Baltimore’s receiving corps.

As the Ravens strive for immediate success, having narrowly missed the Super Bowl last season, acquiring a veteran pass-catcher like Cooks could enhance their chances of contention.
