Broncos Dealt Double Injury Blow, One Player Facing Season-Ending Absence

A Key Forward’s Participation in Dolphins Match Uncertain

The Brisbane Broncos are facing an ongoing injury crisis, with second rower Jordan Riki and utility back Delouise Hoeter being the latest casualties. They join Adam Reynolds, Deine Mariner, and Payne Haas on the sidelines, adding to the significant list of players expected to miss crucial game time.

According to reports from The Courier Mail, Jordan Riki sustained an ankle injury during training on Wednesday, casting doubt over his availability for Friday’s match against The Dolphins. Although the injury is not deemed severe, he will be sidelined for Round 6, necessitating a major reshuffle in the team’s forward lineup.

Patrick Carrigan is expected to move to the flank, while Kobe Hetherington is being considered as a potential replacement at lock. This adjustment could see either Martin Taupau or Benjamin Te Kura being called up to the interchange bench.

Adding to the club’s woes, Delouise Hoeter has suffered a knee injury, potentially requiring surgery and ruling him out for the remainder of the season. With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, this injury could mark the end of his tenure with the Broncos, both for the current season and potentially for his career with the club.
