Before taking over DC, James Gunn introduced CREATURE COMMANDOS
It follows a group of military superheroes consisting of a human leader, a werewolf, a vampire, a Frankenstein’s monster, and a gorgon. Gunn then brought the project to life himself when he became CEO of DC Studios. Writer and series creator James Gunn appears in the opening credits with a laptop writing a script.

. Appeared in AniMat’s insane animated feature The Cast: The Return of the King (of the Hill) (2023). After three episodes, I’m really enjoying it: the soundtrack is fantastic, setting the tone for each scene perfectly, and the dialogue is sharp and engaging, and the characters feel distinct and well-written.
The plot, while not groundbreaking, is engaging
The animation quality is excellent, showcasing sharp visuals and smooth movements that bring the story to life. However, the unnecessary sex and excess feel overdone and detract from the overall experience. I don’t know if some viewers will like it, but it doesn’t add any value to the story.

Nevertheless, it’s still a hugely entertaining show with a strong pace, likable characters, and plenty of interesting moments that will keep me hooked. For now, I’d give it an 8/10 because it’s almost perfect, but it’s held back by those unnecessary elements. If it continues to focus on its strengths (great storytelling, visuals, and characters), it could easily become one of my favorite DC animated series.
